Telangana Govt Joins Hands With UNESCO For AI

From the very beginning of the AI boom, the question of ethics has always existed. To address this issue, the Telangana government and UNESCO have joined forces, signing a Letter of Intent on Sunday, August 20th.

They will be working on implementing the UNESCO Recommendation on the Ethics of AI. Reports suggest that this collaboration aims to support ethical and societal AI development and awareness. The ultimate goal is to make AI more humane.

The collaboration becomes even more important because of the ITE&C Department’s efforts to shape the technology scene in Telangana while ensuring that progress is in harmony with ethical principles. It will also bring the promises of advancement along with AI development.

Overall, AI has faced allegations in the past, including claims of being unethical and even raising racist and insensitive comments. Thus, a step like this is expected to make AI more inclusive and approachable in general.

Now, this venture by UNESCO and the Telangana government will take us to an AI-incorporated future.
