Passenger Calls Out “Uniquely Bad” Service

The traveller described the airline’s checked baggage service as “uniquely bad.” They said American Airlines is the only carrier that has ever lost their luggage, despite flying 10 to 15 times a year.

Bags Missed Flights Twice

According to the passenger, the airline failed to load their bag on time during two separate trips first between Charlotte (CLT) and Philadelphia (PHL), and later between Philadelphia (PHL) and Miami (MIA). In both cases, the bags arrived on later flights, causing serious inconvenience.

Consistent Pattern of Mishandling

Their experience reflects findings from several studies that often rank American Airlines among the worst U.S. carriers for mishandled luggage. The airline’s large network, dependence on regional partners, and congested hubs contribute to this poor track record.

Ongoing Systemic Issues

While occasional baggage delays happen with all airlines, American Airlines’ recurring baggage problems show deeper operational inefficiencies that continue to frustrate frequent travellers.
