A recent Reddit post has brought attention to another frustrating experience with American Airlines, as a traveler recounted a chaotic and stressful journey to New York City for a business conference. The traveler, flying with his wife, received a sudden cancellation notice from American Airlines at 8 p.m. the night before their early morning flight.

With just hours to spare and a professional obligation on the line, the abrupt change left the passenger panicked and scrambling for alternatives.

American Airlines did eventually rebook the couple on a different carrier, but the new itinerary included an undesirable two-hour layover in Nashville and a significant delay in arrival.

Even worse, the new seating arrangement placed them right next to the lavatories, resulting in a long and unpleasant flight with the constant smell of waste filling the cabin.

The ordeal did not end there. Upon reaching Nashville, the connecting flight to New York was delayed by another two hours, with four different gate changes adding to the confusion. At the time of the post, boarding had not yet begun, leaving the traveler bracing for even more issues ahead.
