A passenger jumped out of an Air Arabia aircraft through the emergency exit shortly after landing at Chennai International Airport.

This reportedly happened while the plane was still taxiing on the runway.

The incident occurred before passengers were cleared to disembark and the aerobridge was connected.

According to airport sources, the flight from Sharjah had landed safely when the passenger suddenly opened the emergency exit door.

To make matters worse, the person leapt onto the tarmac.

He then ran toward the runway area.

Alert security personnel and CISF staff immediately intercepted him and took him into custody.

The passenger was later identified as a man employed overseas.

The 29-year-old was reportedly distressed over job-related issues.

He was questioned by airport security and local police for nearly an hour.

No injuries to the passenger, crew, or other travelers were reported.

The aircraft and other passengers were safe.

Opening an emergency exit without cause is a serious aviation security violation.

It can trigger emergency slides, cause injuries, and disrupt airport operations.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation will likely review the incident.

Such actions may lead to fines, legal action, or inclusion on the airline’s no-fly list.
