Delhi Airport Midnight Horror: 6 Injured, Danger Averted?

A Swiss International Air Lines flight bound for Europe was forced to abort takeoff at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport shortly after midnight on Sunday, following a technical issue detected in one of its engines.

The aircraft, an Airbus A330 operating as flight LX147, was carrying 228 passengers along with four infants. The problem was identified by the crew just after 1 am, prompting the pilots to immediately reject takeoff as a precautionary measure.

Following the aborted takeoff, the crew initiated an emergency evacuation. Passengers and crew exited the aircraft using emergency slides, while those unable to use the slides were assisted with airport stairs. During the evacuation process, six passengers sustained minor injuries and were immediately taken to hospital.

The situation was handled swiftly, with all individuals safely evacuated from the aircraft. Authorities have not reported any major injuries, and further checks are expected to determine the exact nature of the technical issue.

Once again, this incident proves the importance of standard safety protocols. Quick decision-making by the flight crew helps prevent potential risks and ensures passenger safety even in unexpected situations.
