A Delta Air Lines Boeing 757-200 flying from New York to San Francisco was forced to make an emergency landing in Columbus, Ohio, after a passenger went into labour mid-flight. The incident took place on Flight 668, which departed from John F. Kennedy International Airport on Sunday morning.

Around an hour into the journey, flight attendants noticed the passenger experiencing contractions and promptly alerted the cockpit crew. The pilots declared a medical emergency and diverted the aircraft to John Glenn Columbus International Airport.

The plane landed safely at 8:45 a.m., where paramedics were waiting to assist. Another woman onboard comforted the passenger until medical staff took over. The baby was not delivered on the aircraft, but timely action ensured immediate care.
