I-Day Sales: Etihad Slashes US, Europe Flights

Etihad Airways is celebrating India’s Independence Day with a major fare reduction for travellers. Passengers flying from key Indian cities can enjoy a 30% discount on Economy Class fares to destinations across the United States and Europe.

Destinations and Booking Period

The list of destinations includes Chicago, Toronto, Washington DC, Barcelona, Dublin, Brussels, Prague, Warsaw, Sochi, New York, and Rome. The offer is valid for bookings until August 15, with travel dates from September 2025 to March 2026. Sample fares start at AED 2,036 for Barcelona and AED 3,149 for Washington DC.

Competitive Offers in the Market

This deal follows Etihad’s earlier summer campaign that offered 25% off on select routes. It comes amid increasing competition among UAE, regional, and Indian carriers. The airline is also enhancing its fleet with the Airbus A321LR, a long-range single-aisle aircraft now deployed on medium-haul routes, providing comfort on par with its widebody planes.

Air India’s Independence Day Promotion

Air India has launched its ‘Namaste World’ sale, offering domestic one-way fares from INR 1,499 and round-trip international fares from INR 12,310. Bookings are available until August 15 for travel until March 31, 2026. Additional savings are offered for direct bookings on the airline’s website or app, with extra benefits for Visa card users.

Air India Express ‘Freedom Sale’

Air India Express is running its ‘Freedom Sale’ with 5 million discounted seats. Domestic flights start at ₹1,279 and international routes at ₹4,279. The sale runs until August 15 for travel between August 19, 2025, and March 2026. Multiple fare types are available, ranging from the budget Xpress Lite with no baggage allowance to the premium Xpress Biz. The airline’s heritage-themed aircraft and wide network continue to attract a diverse group of passengers.
