An IndiGo flight travelling from Delhi to Bagdogra triggered panic after a bomb threat was discovered mid-journey. A message written on a tissue paper inside the aircraft toilet claimed a bomb was on board. The note immediately raised serious safety concerns.
After the message was noticed, the cabin crew alerted the pilot without delay. As a precautionary measure, the pilot decided to divert the flight and make an emergency landing at Lucknow airport. Passenger and crew safety remained the top priority.
Following the landing, all passengers were safely evacuated from the aircraft. Security personnel reached the spot quickly and isolated the plane from others. Bomb disposal squads and officials carried out a detailed inspection.
Passengers waited while their luggage and the aircraft were thoroughly checked. The process took time but remained orderly and calm. No explosive or harmful object was found during the search operation.
Officials suspect the bomb threat was a hoax. Even so, an investigation has been launched to identify the person behind the message. Authorities reiterated that fake bomb threats are a serious offence and disrupt public safety.
