Indigo CEO Peter Elbers has said that Indigo airline services across the country have returned to normal. He expressed regret for the inconvenience faced by passengers due to recent disruptions. The company acknowledged that many travellers experienced delays and cancellations.
Speaking about current operations, Elbers stated that 1800 flights were running on Tuesday. He added that similar disruptions are unlikely in the future. Indigo staff are working round the clock to ensure services continue without further issues.
Elbers also said efforts are being made so passengers do not face inconvenience going forward. He confirmed that lakhs of passengers have already received refunds. The airline is processing the remaining claims as quickly as possible.
The Indigo crisis had a serious impact as the airline is one of the largest carriers in India. Services across several airports were affected. Protests were also seen at some terminals as frustrated passengers raised complaints over delays.
The issue was widely discussed nationwide and even Prime Minister Modi commented on the situation. The Union Civil Aviation Minister also faced strong criticism from national media. The crisis was described as one of the biggest in recent years.
With the CEO assuring normal operations, many hope the turbulence has finally eased. Indigo has promised improved systems and better communication with travellers. The coming days will reveal how smoothly services continue across routes.
