KLM Slammed: Indian Passenger Alleges Racial Bias

An Indian passenger has accused KLM Royal Dutch Airlines of discriminatory behaviour after their parents allegedly faced rude and neglectful treatment on a flight from India to Toronto. The diabetic couple’s experience has sparked outrage and raised questions about fairness in international air travel.

Diabetic Couple Denied Water

According to the passenger, the couple requested a bottle of water during the long-haul journey but were ignored for nearly two hours. The crew reportedly claimed they had run out of water, yet continued serving alcoholic drinks to passengers seated in the front rows.

Allegations of Racial Bias

The father alleged that the passengers who were served were all white. The family believes this selective treatment reflected clear racial bias. The situation worsened when the mother was scolded for trying to use an unoccupied washroom near the front of the economy section. She was told to use the ones at the back instead.

Frequent Travellers Left Disappointed

The family, who have travelled internationally for over a decade, described this as their worst experience ever. They said the crew’s attitude and actions left them feeling humiliated and ignored, despite their medical condition.
