The police report from Charleston County Aviation Authority described Mace as “very irate” and accused her of cursing at officers. It also alleged that she called officers “incompetent” and mentioned Senator Tim Scott during the incident. Mace denied all these claims.

Congresswoman Stands Her Ground

Mace stated that she had no reason to apologise for calling out incompetence. She disputed details about her arrival time and behaviour at the airport. Her statement made it clear that she stood by her remarks and considered the report misleading.

Lawsuit Claims Political Motive

Her lawyer, Larry Klayman, founder of Judicial Watch and Freedom Watch, said the incident was a politically driven attempt to harm Mace’s image and disrupt her campaign for South Carolina governor. The lawsuit demands compensation and a public correction.

Airport Authorities Defend Staff

Charleston International Airport CEO Elliott Summey defended the professionalism of the airport team. Meanwhile, Senator Tim Scott supported the airport police and condemned the remarks attributed to Mace. The case has stirred political tension in the state.
