10-Year Green Card Approved: Miracle or Nightmare?

A US citizen just got a 10-year Green Card approved for his immigrant wife. But instead of jumping with happiness, they are confused as this might be a classic USCIS blunder.

According to his social media post, the US citizen claims his spouse entered the US before their second wedding anniversary, which means she should have received a 2-year Green Card.

But thanks to USCIS delays and a missing biometrics appointment, her Green Card was processed much later. By then they had already been married for over two years.

As a result, the authorities made a blunder, and a 10-year Green Card was issued. At first glance, this seems like a lucky break, but it could lead to serious trouble later.

Now, if the couple does nothing, this mistake could haunt them when she applies for US citizenship.

Hence, instead of bringing relief, the wife’s permanent residency has brought more burden. They will have to catch and fix the mistake, while the agency that caused it faces no consequences.

This isn’t just an isolated case. USCIS errors often leave immigrants scrambling, forced to deal with red-tape nightmares.

Meanwhile, a single misstep could lead to legal headaches. The safest bet is to get legal advice fast and push USCIS for clarity.
