
The incident took place in County Derry of Northern Ireland where two young boys, Reuven Simon and Joseph Sebastian, both 16, went swimming across the Enagh Lake. Both of them belonged to the Malayali community. One of the boys was pronounced dead at the scene by the paramedic staff at the rescue while the other was transferred to a local hospital where he later died.
Six of the boys had gone to the Enagh Lake with towels and the intention to swim. The two boys faced some difficulty while swimming and started drowning. A witness described the water as “very cold” and “dark green in colour”. It is believed that all other boys tried their best to save them but couldn’t. Now a fresh inquiry is being made into the matter searching for the exact reasons why the boys drowned.
