Indian origin NRIs and even naturalised citizens are not safe in Australia. This issue has become significant over the past few years and the recent incident concerning Gaurav Kundi has shocked Indian people and netizens all over the world.
The news came from Adelaide where 42 year old Gaurav resided with his partner. The two were having a usual argument but police intervened in the matter calling it domestic violence.
They took Gaurav under their charge but were brutal in their treatment towards him. His partner shared that she saw a police officer crush Gaurav’s neck with his knees after which he became unconscious.
Due to this, Gaurav is in coma and will remain under life support system until he gets better. Something similar happened in America with George Floyd and the entire world resonated with the incident with slogans of Black Lives Matter.
Netizens are demanding that this barbarity should also come to worldwide notice. It should be questioned why innocent Indian people are often targeted by Australian citizens or their police system.
