Andhra Student Froze To Death In Kyrgyzstan

A piece of shocking news is coming out of Kyrgyzstan about an Indian student who froze to his death after getting trapped under a frozen waterfall on Monday. The 21-year-old MBBS student, Dasari Chandu, had gone to the foreign land to pursue the noblest profession. He came from Ankapalle, Andhra Pradesh.

As per the reports, Dasari was on an outing with his friends after second-year exams when he got trapped under the waterfall. His parents reached out to the Union Minister and Telangana state BJP president G Kishan Reddy to facilitate the repatriation of their son’s remains from Kyrgyzstan.

This incident is one among many where Indian students have lost their lives in a foreign land, As per data from the Ministry of External Affairs, more than 400 Indian students have lost their lives abroad since 2018. The causes of death varied ranging from natural causes, accidents and medical conditions.

Indians emigrate to foreign lands for better education, job opportunities and quality of living. But the number of deaths has been a concern for the Indian government for a while now. Canada tops the list with the number of deaths of Indian students in the past few years with 91 deaths followed by the UK, 48, and Russia 40.
