In recent months, several content creators and influencers in the US have gone viral by posting anti-H-1B videos. Some of them are allegedly entering private property and demanding public documents from Indian workers without any legal authority.
Immigration attorneys from Reddy Neumann Brown PC have described this as a serious escalation. They clarified that these individuals are private citizens and are not linked to USCIS, ICE or any official enforcement agency.
In cities such as Houston and New York, anti-immigrant influencers are reportedly appearing at homes and workplaces of H-1B visa holders. They film confrontations and demand documents like LCAs and PAFs despite having no authority.
Public voices such as Sara Gonzales helped amplify these claims earlier. After that, more influencers appeared to chase viral attention through similar tactics and confrontational videos.
Experts agree that fraudulent H-1B consultancies should face legal action. However, they warn that private citizens trying to enforce rules on their own can create fear and misuse.
Legal experts are advising workers not to engage with such individuals. They recommend not sharing documents, asking the person to leave, and requesting a warrant if they claim authority.
If the person refuses to leave, workers may report the matter to local authorities as trespassing. Legal professionals say it is important to stay calm and protect personal rights.
When enforcement shifts from institutions to influencers, the line between law and intimidation can become unclear. For many Indian workers, the concern is no longer only visa rejection, but also harassment at their doorstep.
