After facing rejection at the New Delhi consulate on September 2, the same applicant received approval just 15 days later in Chennai. The circumstances had not changed, raising questions about why the decision was suddenly different.

Rejection in New Delhi

The applicant’s initial explanation was that he wanted to visit his sister in the United States. However, the officer suspected possible immigration intent since he had multiple relatives living in America. His previous travel to Canada and the UK did not help, and his application was denied.

Approval in Chennai

In Chennai, the applicant used the same background but presented it more carefully. This time, he stated a clear reason for travel, attending his brother’s graduation, and provided proof to support his claim.

Officer’s Perspective Made the Difference

The second officer viewed his Canadian studies and high salary in India as strong reasons to return home. Instead of being dismissed, these details were taken as positives, and the visa was approved immediately.

A Question of Consistency

The applicant’s life, documents, and history did not change between applications. Only the officer and the consulate differed. This inconsistency makes the visa process feel arbitrary and dependent on chance.

When decisions vary so widely in just two weeks, the system feels less about fairness and more about luck, leaving applicants uncertain about their future.
