Brutal US Visa Rejection: No B1/B2 for Indians?

An Indian applicant for a B1/B2 visitor visa just got another brutal rejection by the system. A digital marketer, eager to attend the Affiliate Summit 2025 in New York, had his US visa denied in mere seconds.

Taking to social media, he shared how he had it all planned: a 6-day trip with a clear purpose, mixing business and travel. He had his conference ticket, savings, and even a property purchase back home in India. Yet, the officer didn’t blink before showing him the door.

Netizens reacting to his ordeal believe that Indians have ruined the reputation of legit visitors leading to more rejections. That’s the stereotype now, if you’re unmarried and mobile, they assume you’ll never return to India.

Owning property, having a stable job, showing travel history — none of it seemed to matter if you’re young and free. Even financial proof wasn’t convincing enough.

These visa interviews have become lightning rounds where your life is judged in 90 seconds.

If you are reapplying, netizens believe it is better to rack up some stamps on your passport, maybe marry someone, and definitely avoid sounding too independent. Because for many young Indians, it’s not about proving your intent, it’s more about fitting their narrative.
