F-1 Denied to Indian Students: Outrageous Reasons

F-1 visa rejections are rising every day, with people sharing their horror stories and asking for advice online. Even well-prepared, genuine applicants are being shown the door in under two minutes without any explanation.

In one case, a student at the New Delhi consulate was barely allowed to greet the visa officer before the grilling began. She answered confidently about her loan, her mother’s sponsorship, and her admission to multiple US universities. And still she got rejected.

No red flags, no gaps, yet she was denied under the dreaded section 214(b), which basically means the visa officer deemed that you will likely not return from the US.

Another student shared that her visa was rejected after explaining that she worked remotely in India for a US-based company. That seems to have triggered confusion as the officer reportedly thought she was working in the US without a visa.

Though she clarified her employment was legal and India-based, the rejection came anyway. The Officers don’t even give applicants time to explain before they hand out such brutal denials.

Moreover, reapplying quickly doesn’t guarantee anything, especially if the officer has already made up their mind based on assumptions or half-heard details.

The process feels more like a lottery now, and for Indian students investing lakhs in applications, test prep, and education loans, it’s devastating. There is no clarity on what the reasons are, only speculations as people try to look for futile advice.
