F-1 Visa Slots Reopen, But Not for India?

The US has officially resumed F-1 visa interviews worldwide but Indian students are still struggling to find any slots on the official site.

A student in Delhi reported seeing zero new appointment slots even after the official announcement. Meanwhile, the students are already troubled with the added social media vetting, and this uncertainty over interview bookings adds to their panic.

The US now wants visa applicants to unlock their social accounts. Private profiles, sudden deletions, or suspicious posts could now invite questions, delays, or even rejections.

So yes, interviews have technically resumed but Indian F-1 applicants are still stuck in limbo. They’re refreshing the portal daily, praying for open slots, and now also scrubbing their Instagram feeds just in case.

With college start dates fast approaching, thousands are running out of time. And yet, there’s no transparency from the embassy. No official word on when Delhi or other Indian VACs will actually release a full wave of appointments.
