F1 Visa: Better Hopes For Indian Students

Amidst the turmoil of the low visa acceptance rate for students, several US consulates bring a ray of hope for numerous students by opening F1 visa applications for those who want to pursue education in The States.

The US has been hosting the second-highest number of global students, and for Indian students, it has become their new favorite destination. Currently, Indian students form 21 percent of the total population of international students in the United States. Even last year, 1.25 lakh Indian students went to The States, but as the numbers increased, the rate of acceptance is seeing a downfall.

Now, this new change of increasing the slots will help the students. According to a reputed source, it will also benefit students who have previously faced multiple rejections in terms of US F1 visas.

This year, the usual slots for global students have already been increased by 15%, but the additional slots will only bring good for the students.

The report also highlights that a chunk of applicants is urging the US consulate in Hyderabad to increase the availability of F1 visa slots as they currently need to travel to cities like Delhi or Chennai for the visa processing.

In June, there were reports stating that the United States had started visa appointments for F1 student visas in all its consulates in India. These appointments were made available from mid-July until mid-August.
