What is Fast Track Immigration Programme

India’s Fast Track Immigration Trusted Traveller Programme lets you clear immigration using automated e-Gates. The Ministry of Home Affairs runs this system after verifying your background. It uses your biometrics like fingerprints and facial recognition to confirm identity.

How e-Gates speed up immigration

Once enrolled, you walk through an e-Gate instead of standing in line. There are no passport stamps or paperwork. Your entry and exit details update digitally, reducing human errors and unnecessary interaction with officers.

Who can apply for FTI-TTP

You can apply if you are above seven years old and hold an Indian passport or an OCI card. The entire registration is online and free. After you upload documents, approval usually comes within two to three weeks.

Biometric process after approval

After approval, you must give biometrics at an Indian airport during your next trip. This step can take some time initially. Once completed, every future journey becomes smoother and significantly faster.

Airports where e-Gates are available

The e-Gates operate at 13 major Indian airports including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Kochi. Other airports include Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Lucknow, Kozhikode, Thiruvananthapuram, and Trichy. More locations are coming soon.
