An H-1B worker has alleged that a Desi consultancy is withholding his visa approval copy and delaying his transfer to a larger corporation. He shared his experience online, claiming the firm is not cooperating despite repeated requests.

According to the worker, he did not give clear consent before the company filed his H-1B petition. He said he had requested a change of status filing. However, the consultancy allegedly submitted it under consular processing instead.

After the H-1B was approved, the issue reportedly intensified. The consultancy refused to provide the I-797 approval notice. This document is essential as it confirms that the petition has been officially approved by the US Citizenship and Immigration Services.

The employee has worked with the firm for three years. He recently received a full time job offer from a reputed US company. The new employer is willing to initiate an H-1B transfer but requires the I-797 copy to proceed.

Despite multiple follow ups, the worker claims the consultancy has not shared the approval notice. He alleges that communication has been inconsistent and unhelpful. The delay has put his career move at risk.

He also stated that the company deducted nearly $30,000 from his salary over three years for H-1B related expenses. The claims have raised concerns about unethical practices within certain consultancies operating in the visa space.
