Before even getting an H-1B visa, booking an appointment for the interview is in itself an uphill task. But Imagine after paying a hefty fee and planning everything your appointment vanishes from the system days before the interview.
This was the shocking reality some H-1B applicants are facing in India. Many are logging into their accounts only to see their confirmed appointments and even their application details missing.
A person shared their experience of complaining about this issue to customer support only to get the response, “You canceled it” when they clearly didn’t. Worse, if they try to book again, they must pay the visa fee all over again, and there are no new slots available.
However, a fellow applicant came to the rescue, sharing that this seems like a problem with the system. They claim appointments “disappear” three business days before the interview, yet they remain valid and you could walk in at your allotted time.
It poses an even bigger question of why this system failure is not communicated by customer support. Indian aspirants who are eager to get work in the US can get a huge shock opening the portal just hours before their interview.
For now, all applicants should get their appointment details printed as soon they get the confirmation until this glitch is resolved.
