Huge Drug Bust: US-Bound Gang Arrested

Indian authorities have busted ₹1 crore worth of drugs on a US-bound flight. And not just that, this case has helped in cracking down on a big drug cartel.

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested four individuals, including three Nigerian nationals, in Ahmedabad airport involved in smuggling 2 kg of ketamine to the US. The drugs were found hidden in spice packets.

The officials began their operation on December 3 after receiving a tip-off about a drug cartel linked to Adnan Furniturewala, a known criminal. The illegal racket had its web spread across the nation with its operations running in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Goa.

It turns out that concealing drugs in spice packets is a common practice of this gang. Following the information, NCB launched an operation leading to Adnan’s arrest in Bengaluru, who had been evading capture by frequently shifting locations.

The seizure of 2 kgs of ketamine destined for the US exposes the constant effort of the authorities to put a stop to these illegal activities. It is a big win for NCB but as the investigation progresses there could be more arrests related to the cartel in the future.
