Huge Increase In llegal Indians Going To UK

Living in the UK is a dream for many Indians. Some find the education and quality of life better in the UK, while others are attracted by employment opportunities that it has to offer.

For a long time, Indians have been one of the highest non-English population in the UK. Given the history the two countries share, it is not surprising.

But, after the data released by the government, there has been an increase of 60% among Indian nationals entering the UK illegally. These immigrants use the traditional method of entering a foreign land i.e. boats. Most of them hail a ride from Calais, France to the UK and seek asylum once they arrive.

In 2023, 1192 Indians entered the UK via this route, of which mostly were male aged 19-39 years.

The surprising fact is that just a few years ago the number of Indians entering the UK was zero. Now, it is increasing rapidly. How the UK government will react to this data is going to be interesting given that they have an Indian origin PM at the moment.
