Indian Man Fined 12 Lakh+ For Fraud

Many Indians have a goal to find work in western countries and settle there forever. Canada has always been one of the most sought after places for that. However, getting a permanent residency is not that easy and would require you to have consistent and formal employment. But not managing that hasn’t stopped a few to return to back as they forged documents when they can’t have it. An Indian origin man has been fined a penalty of Canadian dollar 20,000, which is more than 12 lakh in Indian currency, for immigration fraud.

The incident took place in the Manitoba province of Canada where a man was found guilty of misrepresenting documents in order to help immigrants get a work permit. The man has been living in Canada since 2006. He has pleaded guilty to the charges under the Canada Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.

The man had claimed that a woman who came from India on a Labour Market Impact Assessment was working for him as a nanny while the woman had been working somewhere else illegally all this time. He even provided her with payment receipts to serve as documents for over two years. He was found guilty of fraud by the court.
