Indian Mother Commits Suicide On A Cruise

A 64-year-old Indian woman allegedly committed suicide onboard a cruise ship. The woman was on a 4-day cruise vacation with her husband on Royal Caribbean Cruise’s ‘Spectrum Of The Seas’. She has been identified as Reetha Sahani.

Late on the 31st of July, the woman’s husband woke up to find his wife missing. He alerted the onboard management, who informed him that a person had jumped into the Singapore strait. The woman’s son took to social media and claimed that the cruise staff said she jumped off but didn’t provide any evidence. He also alleged that the Cruise deboarded his father without further inquiry into the case.

However, the next day, the Cruise provided video footage of the incident to the family, confirming the woman’s demise. The couple’s son updated this information through another post and requested privacy as they mourn her loss. A search mission is underway to find the woman’s body.

The Indian High Commission in Singapore informed that they are in close contact with the family and the authorities in Singapore to facilitate the legal procedures related to the issue.
