According to the Metropolitan Police, the attack took place around 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday near the junction of Dormers Wells Lane and North Road. Officers and paramedics rushed to the scene after receiving reports of a stabbing.

When emergency services arrived, they found two injured men. Gurbaz Singh had suffered critical stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene despite efforts to save him.

A second victim, a 30-year-old man, was taken to hospital for treatment and later discharged.

Police launched an immediate investigation and detained seven men aged between 20 and 30 on suspicion of involvement in the attack. However, six were later released without further action, while the remaining suspect was released on bail pending further investigation.

As the investigation continues, Gurbaz Singh’s family and friends are facing another painful challenge: bringing his body back home to Punjab for his final rites.

To help cover transportation and funeral expenses, his loved ones have launched a fundraising campaign with a target of €16,000.

The tragedy has left Gurbaz Singh’s family mourning the loss of a young life cut short far from home, while members of the Indian community continue to demand answers and justice.

Meanwhile, police are examining evidence and speaking to witnesses as they work to establish the motive behind the attack and identify those responsible.
