As the clock ticks for Indian students, the US consulates still have no F-1 visa slots for them. And it seems it is not going to get better anytime soon either.
A keen observer on social media noticed that the US visa scheduling website has openly stated it “cannot guarantee” visa interview slots for new F-1 or J-1 applicants without existing appointments this summer.
This chaos started in May, when the US paused all new student and exchange visa interviews to expand social media background checks. However, even after the US announced the resumption of slot bookings, Indians still await their portal to update
Even those lucky enough to get interview dates aren’t safe as slots are reportedly vanishing in seconds. Some claim their appointments are being cancelled without reason.
As a result, Hundreds of Indian students now sit in limbo. This summer has turned into a funeral march for their US Dreams as they anxiously open the website every day looking for F-1 visa slots.
