Indian Trio’s $200K Scam in New Jersey

Three Indian-Americans in New Jersey—Viral Patel, Priyanka Patel, and Pratik Patel—have been arrested for allegedly scamming a business owner out of $200,000.

Operating under the name Janvi Hotel Supply LLC, the trio was hired for contract work at three properties in March. Despite receiving full payment, they failed to perform any work, prompting charges of theft by deception and conspiracy to commit theft. The accused, aged 33 to 38, were apprehended in December.

Viral and Priyanka Patel, a married couple, were arrested in Jersey City, while Pratik Patel was taken into custody a day later. The business owner’s identity and the nature of the work remain undisclosed.

The case unfolded when Google reviews labeled Janvi Hotel Supply LLC as a “scam.” The trio awaits their first court appearances, facing legal repercussions for their alleged fraudulent activities.
