Another Indian Driver Arrested in US Crash, 1 Dead

A fatal road accident involving an Indian truck driver has once again drawn attention in the United States. The crash occurred on a Washington highway and resulted in one death, marking the fourth such case involving illegal Indian truckers in 2025.

Kamalpreet Singh, aged 25, has been arrested and charged with vehicular homicide. Police allege that his truck failed to slow down amid heavy traffic, leading to a deadly chain reaction.

Deadly Crash on State Route 167

The accident took place on State Route 167 near Auburn on December 11. Multiple vehicles were involved after Kamalpreet’s truck allegedly rammed into stopped traffic.

Robert Pearson, a 29-year-old Washington resident, was the sole fatality in the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Impact and Police Findings

According to police, Kamalpreet’s truck slammed into Pearson’s stationary Mazda. The impact crushed the car between two large trucks and briefly triggered a fire.

Authorities confirmed that Pearson was wearing a seatbelt. Officers found no traces of drugs or alcohol in either driver.

Arrest and Legal Consequences

Kamalpreet Singh was arrested at the scene of the accident. If convicted, he could face up to 10 years in prison under vehicular homicide charges.

A judge has set his bail at $100,000. He remains in custody as the case proceeds.

Immigration Angle Adds Controversy

The case has taken a political turn due to Kamalpreet’s immigration status. Authorities allege he entered the US illegally through Arizona in December 2023.

He was released under the Biden administration. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has now placed a detention order against him.

Pattern Raises Broader Concerns

This incident adds to a troubling trend across the country. In 2025 alone, three other fatal accidents involving illegal Indian truck drivers were reported in Florida, California, and Oregon.

The repeated incidents have sparked public backlash and renewed calls for stricter scrutiny of licensing systems and border enforcement policies.
