Indians Illegally Entering US in Record Numbers

For decades, there has been a huge immigration problem in the US. While the country has seen a lot of people illegally entering through the Mexican border, recently staggering data revealed a high influx of Indian people through Canada.

According to the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data, 5,152 Indians illegally entered the US from Canada on foot in June. These people likely seek refuge in the country for better livelihood. Some even wanted to get to the UK via smuggling routes and illegal networks in the US.

These illegal immigrants were also carrying Canadian visas, which has led US officials to question its neighbor’s screening process as well. Canada’s policy on immigration has always been more liberal, allowing more people to work there for better livelihoods and opportunities. However, with an uncertain climate in the US and Canada due to the upcoming elections, it seems the livelihood of such people is in danger. In such times people often travel to other countries, like the UK, via illegal means.

With the US election in November, this data will be a key point in the upcoming presidential debates. Republican camp will be targeting Harris for her failure to deal with the immigration problem. However, as history suggests, from Obama to Trump people have tried to tackle this issue but no one has achieved a full resolution yet.
