The incident has created a wave of backlash and protest in both India and Italy. The family members of Satnam were not even informed about his demise by his employer. They have asked for help from the government of Italy to bring his body back.

Prime Minister of Italy Giorgia Meloni, brought up this incident in the parliament and addressed it as a “horrible and inhuman act”. She also promised to take strict action against those who are responsible for this.

Antonello Lovato, Singh’s employer left Singh and his wife by the road near their home. He will be facing a charge of negligent manslaughter. The Indians working in Italy are outraged by this incident. They said, “We come here to work, not to die”.
