Missing NRI Student Found Dead in River

The tragic death of a Kerala-based student in Scotland has sent shockwaves throughout her family and the community. While the police claim there are no signs of assault or suspicious activity, the details of the incident raised many questions.

Santra Saju, 22, was found dead in a river near Newbridge after being missing for weeks. Her family, originally from Perumbavoor in Kerala, moved to Scotland last year for her postgraduate studies in Psychology at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh.

As per the CCTV footage, Santra was last seen on December 6 at an Asda supermarket in Livingston. Though the formal identification is pending, the police informed the family that the body was found on December 27.

While there are still unanswered questions left on the Indian youth’s death, her family expressed no grievances with the investigation so far. Nonetheless, this incident raises concern for the safety and well-being of young migrant students.

Being an only child, her parents are left devastated as they still seek some explanation behind this heartbreaking incident.
