A tragic incident has come to light involving a 35 year old Indian student in the United States. Neelam Tanaji Shinde passed away after remaining in a coma for 14 months following a hit and run accident.
Originally from Maharashtra, Neelam was a final year master’s student at California State University. She had also worked as an intern at NASA. Her academic journey was seen as inspiring and full of promise.
The accident occurred on February 14, 2025, in Sacramento. Neelam was out for a routine walk when a speeding vehicle hit her. She suffered severe head injuries, multiple fractures, and chest trauma.
