Official: NYC Passes Bill for Diwali School Holiday

The long-awaited news for the Indian community is finally official, announced by Mayor Adams himself. Diwali, the festival of lights, will now be recognized as a school holiday in New York State.

“It meant so much to our earliest Indian-American arrivals, who sought something to hold onto. That’s why this pursuit was incredibly important,” stated the Mayor.
