Rice Ban: Stock Is Back, NRIs Still Complaining

The Indian government’s decision to stop exporting non-basmati rice created instant chaos in the U.S., where Telugu folks resorted to panic buying.

Desi grocery stores smelled the opportunity and increased the prices on rice bags within minutes.

Cut to now, several grocery stores across the U.S. are restocking rice bags from their warehouses and making them available.

However, Telugu folks complain that these stores are still selling at highly increased prices for no reason, commenting that this rice ban only favors the desi grocery shop owners.

There is no doubt the increased pricing will continue until India officially lifts the ban, and that’s how any business works.
