Richest People On Earth; Ambani Back On List

Forbes has released its covered list of the richest people around the world and the top 10 of the list features an Indian as well. Mukesh Ambani has made it back to the top 10 richest people on the planet claiming the 9th spot. Forbes has estimated Mukesh Ambani’s net worth to be $83.4 billion.

Mukesh Ambani has held the title of richest person from India for 14 years consecutively. Gautam Adani had held that position for a brief period but slipped after the stocks fell following Hindenburg paper release. Ambani is the only person from India in the top 10 this year.

Gautam Adani who previously featured in the top 5 of the list slipped to the 24th rank as his wealth shrunk to $47.2 billion. The top position with $211 billion is held by Bernard Arnault, a French business tycoon associated with luxury brands like Louis Vuitton. Elon Musk featured at number 2 on the list with $180 billion.

This year witnessed a decrease in the number of billionaires around the world. The number of billionaires dropped from 2,668 to 2,640 in 2023. India has 167 billionaires ranking 3rd after the USA and China.
