Shocking Bodycam: Telugu Girl Killed by US Cop

As we reported in January, there was an extremely heartbreaking incident involving Telugu student Jaahnavi Kandula, a 23-year-old master’s student at Northeastern University’s Seattle campus, who was killed by a cop while he was on duty attending a priority one call.

The police hit Jaahnavi while she was crossing the road in a crosswalk at 8 p.m. on January 23. The newly released bodycam footage shows shocking mistakes committed by the cop.

Although the cop (Dave) had activated his siren, he did not keep it consistently running when the tragic accident occurred.

The Body Cam shows he was driving at a speed of 74 miles per hour in a 25 miles per hour zone, which hit her and resulted in a spot death.

Media reports say the department released the footage as per laws but did not release everything that could be disturbing to Jaahnavi’s family.

The police officer also admitted he “f–ked up” after the tragic crash, as newly released bodycam video shows. This is truly heartbreaking; we hope the family is finding strength.
