The Trump administration is gearing up to unveil a new travel ban list on March 22, 2025, and it could have a significant impact on H1B visa holders. With just a week to go, many immigrants are left wondering whether it’s worth shelling out for Premium Processing or if the impending restrictions will render it pointless.
The new policy sorts 41 countries into three distinct categories:
– Red List: A complete travel ban–no entry allowed under any circumstances.
-Orange List: Strict visa restrictions, particularly affecting work and tourist visas.
-Yellow List: Countries have 60 days to address compliance issues before restrictions kick in.
For those on the Red List, opting for Premium Proocessing might be a waste of money since visa approvals won’t bypass the ban. As for the Orange List countries, the situation is a bit murky—while getting on H1B extension more quickly could be beneficial, the restrictions might still hinder travel.
Those in Yellow List countries have a narrow window of opportunity. If approvals come through before the 60-day deadline, they might just manage through to travel before the tighter restrictions come into play.
