Telangana Girl Starving On Roads In USA

Not every Indian student who goes to the USA has a happy story to tell. There are some tragic ones as well. Here’s one such story of a Telangana born girl who is starving on the roads of Chicago.

Sayyada Lulu Minhaj left to the USA in August, 2021 to peruse her masters. She used to talk to her mother Sayyada Wahaj frequently on the phone.

Incidentally, Wahaj grew anxious after her daughter didn’t call or respond to her communications for the last two months.

Later, a few Hyderabadi natives recognised Minhaj while she was on the streets of Chicago and intimated the matter to her family.

It is reported that Minhaj lost her belongings to a robbery and ever since, she had been on the roads, starving, and depending on others to feed herself. It is also understood that her mental condition could also be unstable now.

Minhaj’s mother, Wahaj has now written to the union minister Jai Shankar, pleading him to orchestrate a safe return to India for her daughter. She requested the minister to help her daughter immediately as she’s going through a deeply paining situation in Chicago, USA.
