The US President has given the most chilling warning to Iran during the early hours of Tuesday. In a Truth Social post, Donald Trump warned that “a whole civilization will die tonight,” sparking deep concerns as his deadline to open Hormuz drew near.
He went on to give hope that some positive decisions will be made because of the regime change in Iran. Trump called it, “one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the world. 47 years of extortion, corruption, and death will finally end.”
The latter is a reference to the 1979 Iranian Revolution, which began the Islamic rule in the country. The US President had given a deadline to completely open the Strait of Hormuz by Tuesday, 8 PM EST (Wednesday, 5:30 PM IST), but Iran remains defiant to any talks with the US amid bombarding attacks.
People are now afraid that the threat to the “whole civilization” is likely a nuclear warning or at least the use of MOAB, which is the most dangerous non-nuclear bomb in America’s arsenal. The once self-proclaimed Peace President has come under heavy fire for starting and continuing this conflict in the Middle East.
Trump has given exaggerated threats to Iran on multiple occasions since the start of the war on February 28th. It is likely this is another ploy to pressurize Iran into bending to his demands, but the clear consequences of this deadline still remain unclear.
As discussions intensified, people are questioning the global response, with online users asking why there has been no strong reaction from other countries against these baseless threats. With just hours away from Trump’s proposed deadline, the whole world is eying what the leader of the most powerful country is planning.
