Trump was indicted by a grand jury last week for allegedly conspiring with his allies to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election in Georgia, where he lost to Joe Biden by about 12,000 votes. He faces 13 counts, including fraud, false statements, and conspiracy to commit racketeering. He pleaded not guilty and was released on a $200,000 bond.

Biden, who has avoided commenting on Trump’s legal troubles, did not mention his arrest in his public remarks on Tuesday. He said he was focused on addressing the Covid-19 pandemic and the economic recovery. However, he did send out an appeal for donations to his re-election campaign on X, saying “apropos of nothing, I think today’s a great day to give to my campaign.
