Trump Targets Indian Commerce in Campaign

Former US President, Donald Trump has been rigorously campaigning for the ’24 elections to get his second term at the Oval Office.

Known for his straightforward remarks and answers, Trump has once again criticized India’s tariff policy for US made goods. Even during his stint as the president he had raised the issue but the Indian government was adamant over the high tariff for imported US items.

India has been aiming to make itself the manufacturing hub of the world. The policies of the government favor opening of industries in the country rather than importing the same goods. But, many foreign manufacturers want to import the goods rather than build a whole plant for it.

Trump went on to say that if he comes to power again, he will reciprocate the taxes i.e. if India taxes US goods 100%, he will match that for Indian goods in the US.
