U.S. Heads to Voting: First Female President or Trump Returns?

Voting in the United States started early and will continue until late evening on Tuesday.

Will it be Kamala Harris making history as the first female president, or will Trump return?

Who will win, and when will they know? This is the biggest suspense right now.

There is no straightforward answer; sometimes it may take days to know the results, and sometimes it could be quick. In the last election, Joe Biden wasn’t declared the winner until Saturday. This year, it could go either way, but projecting the winner on election night is a thing of the past.

Wednesday is a possibility, but a lot depends on key states like Pennsylvania and other scenarios, such as one candidate having a large enough lead over the second to determine the winner.

So the suspense will continue for a while.

On an interesting note, U.S. elections always happen on a Tuesday (the first one after the first Monday in November).

So far, 46 presidential elections have been held on Tuesdays (1848–2024). This Tuesday tradition was started to allow farmers time to harvest crops and avoid Sunday religious observances, but many now feel it has no relevance as the agricultural industry in the U.S. has changed entirely.
