Unexpected End Of Mass Killer Who Shook The US

In the wake of a horrifying shooting rampage that claimed over 20 lives and left 13 wounded in Lewiston, Maine, a stunned community waited anxiously as a 48-hour manhunt came to a grim conclusion.

The suspected assailant, Robert R. Card, was unexpectedly found dead, bringing an end to the most lethal episode of gun violence in the state’s history.

Unofficial reports suggested he had taken his own life, succumbing to a self-inflicted gunshot wound. His lifeless body was discovered in the woods near Lisbon, close to the recycling center where he had worked previously. He was recently terminated from his job.

Card, a 40-year-old US Army reservist, was the person behind the horrifying shooting spree, which began at a bowling alley and continued at a nearby bar. It was a tragedy that ripped through the heart of the state, leaving residents in disbelief.

The manhunt that ensued saw a massive law enforcement effort, with hundreds of officers from various agencies joining the search.

Card’s disturbing history of mental health issues and alarming threats only added to the chilling portrait of a man who had plunged an entire community into a nightmare.

The city of Lewiston could now begin to heal, but the scars from this tragic event would linger for a long time to come.
