US Congress To Pass Resolution On Diwali

The festival of lights, Diwali, has found a place in the western society as well. Millions of people of Indian origin celebrate this festival outside their homeland and the USA is the biggest of such countries. Diwali has found a lot of relevance in the West because of its references in pop-culture. Now Congressman, Raja Krishnamoorthi, who is of Indian origin, is planning to introduce a Diwali resolution in the US House of Representatives.

This festival of light celebrated alike by the Hindus, Sikhs and Jains of the United States is a time to indulge in gratitude and celebrate the triumph of goodness over evil. Raja Krishnamoorthi is planning to propose a bipartisan resolution that will recognise the religious, cultural and historical significance of Diwali.

He is expecting both the Republicans and the Democrats to extend their support for the bill. A draft of this proposed resolution was also released by him. It appreciates the religious diversity that exists between India and the United States. It also extends collaborative support to strengthen the relationship.
