US Visa Crisis: New Hope For Indian Families

A new act for immigrant families is introduced in the US Senate aimed at fixing the country’s visa issues. As millions of Indians chase the American dream, it will be highly beneficial for the community if the bill gets passed.

The Reuniting Families Act proposes raising per-country family-based immigration limits, allowing more visas by “recapturing” unused ones from previous years. This will bring some relief for many families torn apart due to endless backlogs, who end up taking illegal means to enter the country in lieu of official routes.

It also aims to expand its limits of a family, including unmarried children under the age of 21 as part of this plan. Same-sex relationships are also given a rightful place in claiming family visas opening horizons for the LGBTQ+ community.

For many decades, Indian families have been left uncertain of their future with backlogs keeping them in Limbo. Even approving an individual’s Green Card application doesn’t mean much when his loved ones are kept apart due to red tape.

Meanwhile, Indian workers continue to make a massive contribution to the US economy and this delay in visas is nothing short of disrespectful. While it is not a complete solution, this reform offers to alleviate some problems in the community.
