U.S. Joining Hands With Canada Against India?

After having a serious diplomatic row against Canada, it seems India’s relationship with the USA might be heading in a similar trajectory.

The US Justice Department has charged former RAW officer Vikash Yadav, along with his accomplice Nikhil Gupta, in a murder plot against pro-Khalistan leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun. While Gupta is put behind bars in the US, Yadav is still absconding.

These are similar allegations that Canada made against India last year after the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Notably, the USA supported its neighbour and condemned India when the accusations were first made.

While Yadav doesn’t work for RAW any long, such a high-profile murder plot would cast doubts over the Indian government’s involvement with him.

After years of building great relations with the West, these recent incidents have tarnished India’s global image.

If the USA and Canada join hands against India it will spell disaster not just for the government but Indians living in North America as well.

The FBI is still on the lookout for Yadav and put him on its wanted list. Meanwhile, the Ministry of External Affairs has distanced itself from the case.
